Simple and light Bolognese sauce

- Peel and chop the onion
- In a large Dutch oven or skillet, sauté onion in 1 tbsp olive oil for a few mins
- Add ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is gone from red to brown
- Peel and chop garlic
- Once the meat has browned add the peeled tomatoes, chopped garlic, basil, salt, pepper and bring to a boil,
- Reduce heat and simmer over low heat, covered for 30 mins
- If the sauce is too thin, add a little tomato paste 10 mins before end of cooking

Advice and suggestions

This recipe is light. For an even lighter version you can brown the onions with a little water or broth instead of oil. You can also directly put together directly
